Why my practice is online — and why moms prefer it

When I built this practice, online therapy in New Jersey wasn't the fallback — it was the point. The women I serve are nursing at odd hours, pumping between meetings, wrangling nap schedules, or too depleted to add a 40-minute round trip to the one hour that's supposed to refill them.

Video sessions mean therapy actually happens. The baby can be on your lap. The commute is the walk from the kitchen to a door that closes. And if you've ever cried in a therapist's parking lot before driving home — here, you're already home.

I'm licensed across New Jersey, so it doesn't matter whether you're in Montclair or Marlton, Hoboken or Haddonfield — if you're in the state, we can work together.

the best therapy is the one that actually fits your life

Everything you're wondering about virtual sessions

simpler than you think

How video sessions work

Before each session you get a private link. At your time, you click it — from a laptop or your phone — and we're together, face to face. Sessions run the same 55 minutes as any office visit, and everything about the work is the same: same depth, same warmth, same tissues (yours are just softer, because they're your own).

Sessions run on a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform built for therapy — not a consumer video app.

what happens here stays here

Private, encrypted, and yours

Sessions run over an encrypted, HIPAA-compliant platform. Nothing is recorded. Because I'm private pay, there's no insurance company reading treatment reports either — your story stays in the room, even when the room is virtual.

On your end: a door that closes is plenty. Plenty of moms take sessions from a parked car in the driveway — the modern mother's soundproof booth.

you already own everything required

A phone or laptop. That's it.

Any device with a camera and a decent connection works. No downloads, no accounts — just the link. Earbuds help with privacy and let you move around if the baby needs bouncing.

Tech hiccup mid-session? We switch to phone and keep going. Your hour is your hour.

this is not a queue app

Same specialist, every single week

This isn't a subscription app that assigns you "a" therapist from a queue and swaps them without notice. It's a private practice: you see me, every session, a PMH‑C-certified specialist in exactly what you're going through — and I answer my own messages, usually the same day.

Online therapy is a great fit for most of the women I see. When it isn't the right level of care — and occasionally that's true — I'll say so honestly and help you find what is.

Online therapy questions, answered

Is online therapy as effective as in-person?

For talk therapy, decades of research say yes — outcomes for anxiety, depression, and grief treated by video consistently match in-person care. What matters is the relationship and the specialist. What online adds for moms is the part research can't measure: sessions that actually happen, consistently, because they fit your life.

Can I do sessions while my baby is with me?

Yes — babies are welcome on screen, always. Feed, pump, rock, bounce. As a mom of three I promise a fussy baby doesn't derail our work. Older kids are a different story: for your privacy, we aim for nap time, screen time, or a closed door.

Do I have to be in New Jersey during sessions?

Yes — licensing law ties sessions to the state where you're located, so you'll need to be physically in New Jersey during our appointments. Traveling? Tell me and we'll plan around it.

What platform do you use? Do I need an account?

A secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform made for therapy. No account, no download — you get a private link and click it at session time. If tech ever misbehaves, we finish by phone.
