Infertility & IVF counseling in New Jersey.

For the two-week waits, the negative tests, the shots and scans and "just relax" advice — counseling from someone who understands that infertility is a crisis of the heart, not just the body.

When trying becomes the hardest thing you've ever done

Nobody plans for this road. One month you're giddily guessing at nursery colors; eighteen months later your calendar is built around cycle days, your bathroom drawer looks like a pharmacy, and you can't scroll past one more pregnancy announcement without your chest going tight.

Infertility touches everything — your marriage, your friendships, your body image, your faith, your bank account, your ability to sit through a baby shower. And because so much of it happens privately, the people who love you often have no idea how much you're carrying. "Just relax." "Have you tried...?" "Everything happens for a reason." They mean well. It still lands like a slap.

As an infertility counselor working with women across New Jersey, I hold space for all of it: the hope you're afraid to feel, the grief that comes every 28 days, the anger you don't think you're allowed to say out loud. Here, you're allowed.

hope and grief can share a heart — that's what makes this so hard

What infertility counseling can hold

Every stretch of this road has its own weight. Click through the ones you're carrying right now:

the rollercoaster

Treatment itself

IUI, IVF, retrievals, transfers — and the two-week waits that feel like two-year waits. Coping tools built around your actual cycle calendar.

the impossible math

Decision fatigue

How many rounds? Donor options? When does "one more try" help — and when does it hurt? Space to think where nobody is selling you anything.

the two of you

Your relationship

One of you grieves loudly, the other goes quiet. Intimacy becomes scheduled. You snap at the person you need most. We rebuild the teamwork.

the minefield

Everyone else

Baby showers, holidays, the friend who got pregnant "without even trying." Boundaries and scripts that protect your heart without burning bridges.

the losses inside it

Grief mid-process

Failed transfers, chemical pregnancies, miscarriage during treatment. Pregnancy loss is a specialty of mine — these roads overlap.

the plot twist

Pregnancy after infertility

When the joy you waited years for finally arrives — tangled with fear and disbelief. You're allowed help with the good news too.

A soft, quiet moment — you get to fall apart here
you get to fall apart here

Everyone tells you to stay positive. I won't. You get to be devastated, hopeful, furious, and numb — sometimes all in the same week — and none of it will be too much for this room.

How fertility counseling helps

I can't make the science work faster — I wish I could. What IVF and infertility counseling gives you is sturdier ground to stand on while it runs its course:

  • Real coping tools for scan days, results calls, and the waits in between
  • A place to grieve each loss properly, so grief doesn't calcify into despair
  • Scripts and boundaries for intrusive questions and impossible events
  • Ways to stay a couple — not just co-managers of a medical project
  • Space to think through the big forks: more treatment, donor paths, adoption, or the brave decision to stop

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with perinatal mental health certification (PMH‑C) — training that covers the full arc from trying to conceive through postpartum. Whatever this road does next, you won't have to explain the basics to me. I already know the language.

Infertility counseling questions, answered

Do I need a "diagnosis" of infertility to start counseling?

No. If trying to conceive is weighing on your mental health — whether it's month four or year four, with or without a clinic involved — that's reason enough. Many clients start counseling before treatment, precisely so they have support in place for whatever comes.

Can my partner join sessions?

Yes. Infertility is a two-person storm even when only one body is in treatment. Some clients come solo, some alternate, some bring their partner for specific sessions — like before a big decision. We'll shape it around what your relationship needs.

I'm in the middle of an IVF cycle. Is this a bad time to start?

It's arguably the best time. Mid-cycle is when the anxiety peaks and the support matters most — and because sessions are online across New Jersey, they fit around monitoring schedules. We can even plan sessions to land near your transfer or results days.

Do you take insurance for infertility counseling in New Jersey?

I'm out-of-network; sessions are $225 and many clients get 50–70% back through out-of-network benefits. I provide superbills and partner with Mentaya to file claims automatically — the free checker on my fees page shows your plan's exact coverage.
